Special Olympics GB proud to announce its Official Partner - Domino's Pizza

Dominos Pizza - SponsorsWe are delighted to officially announce that a new long term partnership between Domino's Pizza and Special Olympics GB has been launched this month to help support the ongoing work that the charity undertakes to provide year-round sports opportunities to people with learning disabilities across the country.

To kick off the support, Domino's Pizza Head Office and over 400 Domino's outlets across the country will be aiming to raise "Dough to Go" to help support athletes selected to attend the Special Olympics World Games in Shanghai next October.

The partnership will also see Domino's Pizza and Special Olympics GB working together at local level throughout the year hosting "Come and Try" sporting days - 5 in 2007 - to help spread the word about the Special Olympics programme and recruit new athletes and coaches to participate in the year-round sports training and competition programme. Domino's employees will also be signing up to volunteer at local events.

Chris Moore, Chief Operating Officer said, "At Domino's we are committed to delivering much more than just a great-tasting pizza. We have formed this partnership with SOGB because we are inspired by the passion and enthusiasm of their staff, volunteers and athletes. We hope our support will help SOGB to raise much-needed funds and perhaps, more importantly, attract new volunteers and athletes to join in the fun"

Lawrie McMenemy, Chairman of Special Olympics Great Britain says, "We are delighted that Domino's Pizza has chosen SOGN as its charity of choice at a time when vital funds are needed to get talented athletes to the 2007 World Summer Games. It costs £2,000 for an athlete to attend - funded primarly by family and friends, so to have the support of Domino's will mean a great deal to everyone involved in helping the athletes realize their dream"

Domino's Pizza funds will ensure that we can improve and give further support to the 8,000 athletes we currently serve. It also means that we can reach out tomany more thousands of people with learning disabilities who may not currently have the opportunity of taking part in sport at any level. Domino's will nationally seek to raise awareness for the partnership and its goals on over 30 million pizza boxes over the coming 12 months and via marketing and PR campaigns in 2007.
