SO, you want to coach….
Special Olympics GB would not exist today — and could not have been created — without the time, energy, commitment and enthusiasm of its dedicated volunteers.
Every week there is sport training in a range of sports – The sports offered in each region depend on the availability of volunteers, coaches and facilities and, therefore, sports offered will often vary between regions.
We need committed, qualified and trainee coaches to ensure athletes receive consistent training, including physical conditioning, development of sports skills, measuring progress and providing incentives for personal growth
Accredited Sports Coaches
Coaches play a unique and indispensable role in Special Olympics. They provide the sports skills and spirit that define a true athlete. They are role models and character builders. They give Special Olympics athletes the most immediate awareness of their own worth, ability, courage and capacity to grow and improve.
Interested in gaining a Sports Coach accreditation?
Special Olympics GB encourages all of its coaches to undertake their coaching with the relevant National Governing Body (NGB) of their particular sport. Coach education is an ongoing experience and in order to provide the best quality experience to athletes, continuing education is a necessity.
